Our History

It all started in 1997 when a group of young deputies in the Pima County Sheriff's Department, fed up with poor representation from other labor and employee associations, banded together to form their own group that could better advocate on behalf of their fellow employees. The group, which would go on to be known as The Pima County Deputy Sheriff's Association- was created with one premise in mind, to provide "professional representation for professionals".

While that motto still binds all of our members over 25 years later, PCDSA has grown to represent more than just deputies, but also corrections officers and civilians employed by the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

As the only formally recognized labor association for deputies, PCDSA is the largest group at the county level advocating for fair treatment, fair pay, and other rights and benefits of our members.

Advocating for fair treatment, fair pay, and other well-earned benefits for our members since 1997
